So, Donald... What is your proposed solution here? There is no doubt that Legacy is very much a sacramentally-based program. Presumably this is to be expected since its primary purpose is to handle genealogy issues. (Pun intended.) Since in most societies the universal permit is "marriage" anything outside of that condition is presumed "erroneous." However, as we all know and some of us encounter, we're talking human pedigrees here and humans are, well, er, human and bloodlines are not the only subjects of true concern. It strikes me that Legacy works very well as a 'database' but that its output side is too closely linked to the sacrament of marriage to be as flexible as many people would like their reports to be worded. This is, frankly, somewhat strange since one can clearly be concerned with parentage without caring a bit about whether or not "appropriate" social conventions have been covered first.
I trust you will be happy with TMG but it might be more helpful if you were to stick around and make clear suggestions as to what it is you would like to see accomplished. I have to confess to a long-standing objection to peoples' expectations that Legacy will be re-vamped for their specific preferences where reports, in particular, are concerned ... but I do agree that Legacy is very pedantic where "marriage" is concerned (let alone "same-sex family issues!) and should accord more flexibility in this area allowing the USER to customize basic wording structures throughout the program which will then 'stay resident' as the default wording. Both on the input side and on the output. So... anything specific on your mind? Just a thought or two... She adopted this girl after her divorce. The unmarried status does not get rid of the marriage tag from showing up in reports. You get spouses unknown unmarried in your report. I have found the perfect solution, TMG 5.02 Thanks for the suggestions but it won't work for me.
