That would surely make the cheese more binding.

Just to add to the "problem". I have a German colleague at work who took on
his wife's surname when they got married!

I believe this situation illustrates the need to have an option to get
Legacy to automatically generate AKA's for married females. (It should be an
"option" as not everyone may want to choose this action).

This won't completely solve the problem but at least it will be possible to
find the married females under their married names as well as their maiden
name. ...... Lastly, if something is done, it would be nice if the AKA's
(etc) could be included in the indexes for reports and web pages....

JOAN SAYS: This would be greatly appreciated. Other AKAs that should be
included are adoptees who have one legal name at birth and another after
adoption [I have a great uncle who was born Harold Parker, then adopted by
his maternal grandparents and became Harold Murden], and persons who changed
their names at immigration or legally. For instance, my ancestor John
Kirkpatrick changed his last name to Kirk when he came to North America
[first Canada, then US]. His ancestors are Kirkpatrick. His descendants
are Kirk. It would facilitate finding two-legal-names in the data bank if
they were under both legal names, depending on which branch of the family
one is working on.
