I tried an ancestor book on my niece, who is unmarried, and the report
was correct. She showed as single in generation 1, and as single as a
child of her parents in generation 2. By single, I mean no reference was
made to marital status.

If I run an Ancestor Book on my daughter, she appears as my daughter in
Generation 2 with a line reading that she "married (name unknown)".

At Generation 4, my grand parents appear with their children. One of

daughters is a nun. She never married and never had children, yet now
appears with the same "married (name unknown)" sentnece.
