Yes, it is.  If you want a list of only a certain surname, use the search utility.  If 
you go into that screen from John Smith,  and then select  Jones, you will find you 
are looking at John Jones, and this, if not caught could create a real mess in a 
hurry.  The only thing that I do with that, is find out how many have the surname.

I was checking the Master List Surnames and found that the select button 
is greyed out.  Is it supposed to be like that?  I was surprized I 
couldn't select a person from that view.
