Why not split off the different families that you want to share to either a new Legacy file or a gedcom file and share that info with your correspondents? Or you could create reports on various individuals or families and keep the reports handy for the next time someone asks about them. Set up separate folders for each line so you can have them all in one place.
I don't understand what kind of "hard drive problems" you would expect by saving and deleting files? I do it all the time with no problem. I also defrag my hard drive on a regular basis, but that's just good maintenance to do anyway. Thanks for using Legacy. I have a database of 15,000+ names, I have many people who want to share part of that information but not all 15,000+ people. Therefore, I create a report and I have to save it to my hard drive in order to send it by e-mail. I don't want my hard drive filled with these little bits of information, do I have to go back to FTM to avoid this. Please don't suggest that I create, save, send, then delete. To me that is just asking for a hard drive problem. I want to create a report, copy it and paste it into an e-mail. I use v 5.0 Deluxe, but do not see any way to accomplish this.
