I have the same, and similar problems. I suggested to Legacy years ago that
they had the underpinnings of a unique solution to this problem (among
existing genealogy programs) already built into their existing code. The
key to this solution is tags. I recommended that they implement an
additional set of tags that were not for general use but were for situations
as you have delineated. I thought this could also be a solution that would
allow me to combine all of my databases into one. Then when I entered
Legacy I could select the portion (or portions) I wanted and the rest of the
data, although it all lived in the same database, would be transparent to
me. Maybe it's harder to implement than I thougt, but it would sure make
life easier in a number of instances. BTW - they never responded.

Subject: [LegacyUG] Copy/Paste vs Saving

I hope I can explain the problem I have using Legacy.
I have a database of 15,000+ names, I have many people who want to share
part of that information but not all 15,000+ people.
Therefore, I create a report and I have to save it to my hard drive in order
to send it by e-mail. I don't want my hard drive filled with these little
bits of information, do I have to go back to FTM to avoid this.
Please don't suggest that I create, save, send, then delete. To me that is
just asking for a hard drive problem.
I want to create a report, copy it and paste it into an e-mail.
I use v 5.0 Deluxe, but do not see any way to accomplish this.
Any other suggestions?
