John, In 1998, I formed the Sacramento Legacy Users Group at the Mission Oaks Community Center in Carmichael, California. My purpose was to create a learning environment for those individuals who desired to use the genealogy software program Legacy as their device for storing genealogical information.
We meet the 1st Thursday of each month 1-3pm. I conduct the sessions as a classroom - I have someone who does the keyboarding for me since it is easier for me to concentrate on imparting information and I do the teaching. I encourage participation from the members and believe me, there is a great deal of that, which makes it fun. I am attaching one of my lesson outlines for your information.
