Thank you for doing this. I only got 5 copies made the first time (which were sold for cost to distant cousins), and now 3 more people want one (with additional updates of course). I was about to try the company you said you used, but I also know a local person whose family has a printing company and figured I would try them first.

Subject: Re: [LegacyUG] PDF files (Yes, Sharon, they are broken)
About a moon ago, Sharon was having trouble with PDF files. I was interested in this problem so I cast about looking for a PDF validator. I wasn't able to find much. There is a free, Java-based toolkit called Multivalent that includes a .pdf validator. I downloaded it but never got around to trying it. Until now.
A small sample of .pdf files sized 100-300kB from a variety of online sites (Adobe, Detroit Diesel, Leviton, and PowerQuest) all passed the validation check.
I tried two .pdf files from Legacy 5 build of 5 Sept 2004, a Descendant Chart (5kB) and a Descendant Narrative (25kB). Both failed to validate.
These findings seem to correlate with the trouble Sharon experienced at Kinko's. At least some Legacy-generated .pdf files appear to be defective.

middle of the page and then prints the postscript errors and stops. <snip>
Kinko's said that there is probably some setting in the creation that
doesn't work with Postscript. <snip>
