Ah yes, but it is also important to revisit past sources in case they have been updated, or in case what you find now fits with other information you've found along the way. Yesterday I was just dabbling with Legacy after installing the latest update and I found a long forgotten note that a certain couple could possibly have had another son - I had also noted a death registration with the correct mother's name and Jno instead of James as the father. Now I had checked the IGI (both microfiche in the old days, and on-line more recently) looking for all references to births to this particular couple and had only found two. Since the on-line IGI is about all I have available to me at the moment (new house - everything still in boxes) I decided to have one more look for other children. This time I found the child I was looking for, which confirmed for me that my great grandfather had at least one of his brothers who also emigrated to Australia. So now I have another avenue to chase up in Australian records. Had I dismissed the IGI because I'd previously recorded that it had been searched I would have missed this opportunity.
