Hi Marie,
Events are listed in Chronology View in order of Date entered for the event.
You can have many Census events and they will list in order of date with other information entered for that person and their family.
In the Event List, you can sort events by date for an individual or manually sort each time you add an event to keep them in order.
You don't need different names for the Census Events to do this.

eg in Chronology View
25 Feb 1839 Marriage Martha Osment ...
1839 Child born (#1) Emily Ann Guppy
1841 Occupation Carpenter
6 Jun 1841 Census Market St, Sherborne ...
20 Aug 1841 Child born (#2) Winifred Guppy
1851-1871 Occupation Builder
30 Mar 1851 Census Cheap St, Sherborne ...
1858 Death of Mother Winifred ...born 1773

Events List
Occupation 1841 Carpenter/Sherborne ...
Census 6 Jun 1841 ...
Occupation 1851-1871 Builder/Sherborne ...
Census 30 Mar 1851 ...
Census 7 Apr 1861 ...

Hope this clarifies.
It certainly helps to be able to see everything listed chronologically.

Hi Bob, Whether entering separate Census Events is overkill depends upon
how one wants to view and understand information. Taking a very difficult
to find
person, listing each thing I know about them chronologically, then adding
anything
I learn, reading and rereading it has helped me move forward with research
for that
person. One of the features I appreciate about Legacy is the view that
lists event
chronologically. I therefore want each census to be listed in proper time
sequence
and, from what I understand, I need to enter each separately under the
appropriate
date the census was taken to view that person's information in that manner.
Can that happen if I list all census records as an event? Am I missing some
wonderful
trick here?

Thanks, Marie
