Lance,

I'm sure you can find plenty of discussion about the "doing" of research
on lists, forums, and web sites devoted to the research part of genealogy.

This list is devoted to one specific genealogy program, and thus to the
computerized recording and sharing of the research that we have done.

Most of us here pick up a lot of good ideas from others who are using the
same program, and, in the process, we sometimes learn a little about the
research part as well. You have to appreciate this list for what it is
trying to be, not criticize it for not being what it never intended to be.

Bob

Subject: [LegacyUG] Anyone actually "doing" family research?

After all of the messages on using MRINS, the printing of reports, and how
to define locations, it really makes me wonder if there is anybody out there
actually "doing" family research :-). Or, is too much time being devoted to
the "frills and niceties" of how the research looks; what the program should
do or not do; whether it contains "commas" or doesn't contain "commas" (in
locations); whether or not a location is placed in two, three, four or more
fields? Just a thought for you to think about, on how you are spending your
time with this hobby.
