Lance, I'm sure you can find plenty of discussion about the "doing" of research on lists, forums, and web sites devoted to the research part of genealogy.
This list is devoted to one specific genealogy program, and thus to the computerized recording and sharing of the research that we have done. Most of us here pick up a lot of good ideas from others who are using the same program, and, in the process, we sometimes learn a little about the research part as well. You have to appreciate this list for what it is trying to be, not criticize it for not being what it never intended to be.
