I strongly support the current Legacy approach - output to PDF or to RTF. They have different purposes - PDF to distribute easily without formatting hassles on just about any printer, and RTF to allow editing prior to distribution.

It just sounds like it's time to update the writer beyond V3 format, that's all.

Both are required, and should be retained, IMO!

Barb

Among the reasons I avoid Adobe like the plague is exactly what's causing
your problem. Of course Adobe then hopes you'll buy their full (and
expensive) full version. Seeing no reason to buy yet another word processor
of such limited scope, I try to avoid creating PDF's in the first place, and
I also avoid PDF's when searcing the www.

So, as a request to Millennia I ask (again):

that Legacy give up the PDF's and/or focus instead on full output to *.rtf
and/or *.doc, which can be read and manipulated even with lowly M$works.

Anyway to get back to your question, you can use the copy "feature" in
Reader to select all or portions of the text, copy that to the clipboard,
and then paste it into a new document using your preferred word processor.
It may or may not paste looking exactly the same, tho, depending on your
word processor and the manner(s) used to paste.

good luck

Hi Everyone,
Is there an easy way to edit my Legacy Multiple lines of
Descent file I made into a PDF file. When I open it with adobe everything
looks great, all the photos are in the right place etc. My only problem is
it won't let me edit my text, is there a way around this please. I tried
opening it in word and there are no photos and things are out of line.
I can print my book straight from Legacy but I can see quite a lot of errors
that I need to fix, and I can fix them quicker in this mode.

Regards,
Barbara.
