Currently, the program does not allow you to leave it blank. It is two radio buttons and one or the other must be clicked/on. I believe someone is asking for a third radio button for "Unknown". Of course, an option would be to have two check boxes for "Yes" (living) or "No" (dead) and you leave both blank if you don't know, but that would also require modifications to the software... and I think more modifications than what was originally suggested. --Paula
