Are we talking about the Ancestor Chart? Or the Ahnentafel (Ancestor) Book

We are talking about the Ancestor book report - Charts have never come into it, as far as I know.
In my latest Legacy upgrade (Oct 2004) the Ancestor report again has Ahentafel eponym, but previously it didn't.
DeLories Vaughn asks what to do if the reset button doesn't work; try deleting the file C:\Program files\Legacy\ances.usr; that was Geoff Rasmussen's suggestion which worked for me.
