Try ATNotes -- still free and much better, in my opinion

Unfortunately you are not missing much. You can get tabs to stick if you
use CTRL-Tab rather than just Tab - or copy and paste the census
transcription. But the screen display will be different to the report
display. You need to keep checking the report if you want the report to
look 'pretty'. I did this for descendant book reports and Multiple Line of
Descent reports for a chunk of my family. Looks good but was fairly tedious
to do - I got better at it :-).

I found it was best to use spaces between Name and Status rather than tabs.
I didn't go to non-proportional font as I don't like the look.

I use an old free version of TurboNote (v3.4) these days to transcribe
census. The note will sit on top of all windows and when I copy and paste
to Legacy, the tabs seem to travel with it so things are fairly well lined
up. The other feature I use is the ability to set an alarm on a note - for
any date or time to remind me to pay bills or get the bread out or whatever
;-) You can still find the free version on the net if you search but mostly
the latest shareware version. Could be time I upgraded and paid up.
