Jan,

What do you mean by a "readable" backup? There haven't been any changes to
the backup that I know of. It's simply a compressed file of your Family File
and associated files (the FG, TG, CB, etc files)

The instructions on our website are about as clear as I can explain on how
to create a backup (go to File > Backup Family File) or to restore the
backup (File > Restore Family File).

Thanks for using Legacy.

Subject: [LegacyUG] backups

Since I have subscribed to the latest edition of Legacy, I have been unable
to get a readable copy of my backup. I have read the directions and
evidently do not understand them. I am sorry I ever got this version. Why
they ever changed the backup I'll never understand. My choices are to input
my whole tree individually to my laptop or use another program. I contacted
Legacy support but they just told me to read the directions. Oh well,
Family Treemake here I come, Jan
