I know both parents of most of them and the parents that did not marry I have been putting their names in along with the childs info and where it says Marriage...I have been putting DID NOT MARRY.....
I also have a adopted child that I know his mothers name but not his fathers name. Would I just put this info into NOTES for him? The mother went on to have another child who lived with her parents and later on married a man and had children with him ...... since both woopsies were 1/2 siblings to her new family I don't want to leave the new family children out.
I also have a few children that were born befor the marriage to the father so have the mothers maiden name instead of the fathers surname...I have been putting their lawful name in where it says son or daughter of the parents Is this correct or should this be put in the NOTES on that child?
IE
Thomas Holden son of Sarah Holden br ---------- later that yr the parents married and so I have Sarah Holden entered under her maiden and married name and the son of both under his lawful surname of HOLDEN instead of his fathers surname. Civil Registration in the UK said the child was to be know as the name they were registered under .....so if someone went looking for this childs info they would not find him under his fathers surname even tho he might have have been known as that surname when it came to legal info it would be under his mothers surname,......ie marriages and death info.....
Is this aright or is there another way to do this? I couldn't seem to find anything on this subject in the Help area.
Hope I have not confused the list with this query.....
Thank you SLC
