HOW TO SOURCE 40 LETTERS FROM GRANDMOTHER
October 17, 2004
Bill,

On the other hand, I tend to try to keep things simple. I'd make one source
called "Grandmother's Letters Collection" and in the Main source entry
describe what the collection includes: the number of letter, range of dates
covered, subjects discussed, etc. Then, when citing the source of
information in a particular letter for details for a particular person, I'd
put the date or some other identifying factor in the Details area for that
particular usage. You may even want to quote the pertinent passage in the
Comments area of the Source Detail screen.
If the letters are not all dated, you might number them arbitrarily.

Hi Bill,
I'd make the File a Master Source.
When adding this source to specific events/names etc I'd put the specific
page number(s) in the Source Detail. You may also want to add a transcript
of the relevant section to the Source Detail Text.
Cheers,
Cathy
