Well the name comes from somewhere - so there is a source for it - and sometimes they conflict.
eg The first information about a great great aunt came from family sources - from her nephew. He said she was called Louise Joy. All official sources I have for her have her as Emily Louise. Definitely the same person and not a sibling due to other information.

How do I show the evidence for that for those who know the family tradition if I don't source the name? How would I have known where "Louise Joy" came from if I hadn't sourced it?

I used to put the source for the link between generations in the Name field as well - before we had Relation to Father, Relation to Mother Source Fields. So many of those sources are still there as well.

Cheers,
Cathy

I would find the "Sourcing all Used Fields" option useful if it didn't source the name. What is the value of sourcing the name anyways???
