Rodney, What your friend is describing sounds more like Family Tree Legends (which I have and use for the smartmatching). Is your friend using FTM now and what version? What I will say is: The cost of the deluxe version is very low compared to other programs. When he learns the ins & outs he would see that almost everything he wants to do can be done and usually easier. All new users should purchase the training videos. Even after using Legacy Deluxe for 2 years I learned a LOT from the videos. Ask your friend to download the trial version of other programs and check them out also. In the long run he would purchase and use Legacy for the majority of his work and possibly one or two other programs for what they have to offer.
