Sandra,

The @sub1@ is a cross reference id within the gedcom file. There is no standard
as to the construct of a cross reference id, so without the context of the
gedcom it is meaningless.

Cross reference id's have the for @xxx@ where xxx is some arbitrary text between
1 and 22 characters.

As to why it was imported to a location field in Legacy:

(1) badly formed gedcom file

     or

(2) bug in Legacy

again without the gedcom it is impossible to determine why.

The only reason why you might not want to delete this data is that it links
these individuals together, if you can get the original gedcom, you might
be able to determine what the data SHOULD be.

Subject: [LegacyUG] @Sub1@

Currently I have 868 persons in my files with @Sub1@ as a place.
I once imported files into my data but will never do so blindly again. Have
been moving these up to the space just below where it says Degree of
Ancestor Intere as I run across them, have read all the Legacy help things
but still my brain will not let me know what this means and if I can just
delete them all without worry.Could SKP splain it to me in baby terms
please?
