Legacy doesn't stop you from entering this, so if that is how you want to enter it, feel free to. But I would probably enter it in the Death Location field as ... Shiloh, Whatever Co., Virginia or Shiloh, Whatever Co., Virginia (Shiloh Battlefield) ... and in the Death Notes say "So-and-so died in the Battle of Shiloh during the Civil War. Blah, blah, blah...". But Legacy is very flexible, so you can do whatever you like. You should explore various options and look at the output (reports and webpages) to see what you like best. >(2) Also, I have reviewed (many times) the earlier postings to this >newsgroups, have the User's Guide and several cd's and I still don't >have a clear understanding of where to enter cemeteries. There are numerous schools of thought on this. I enter them in the Burial Location field as ... City, County, State (Cemetery Name) ... because I like the way it reads in reports. I do the same for hospitals, churches, etc. Other use the Burial Address field. I'm sure there are several other methods. >(3) Perhaps, I don't understand why a battlefield is not the location >of death or a cemetery is not the burial location. They are. It is just a matter of personal preference. Good luck! -- Dennis M.
