These CDs have been available for some time now and many people have copies. We had a rather substantial party this weekend, because of a forthcoming wedding, and I took the opportunity of doing a "poll" concerning the CD. Now, one must remember that this involved people of all ages from very young to ninety - my "poll" was about nineteen to seventy. Out of 16 people only one had looked at the genealogies but all had viewed the pictures - - really liked to see themselves included. The one person who had looked at the genealogy was a seventy year old.
Genealogies are, for the most part, for future generations, not our own (exluding other researchers) and I think we must always keep that in mind when we enter data. Clarity must be foremost as those following might not always understand out intent. After you enter, then read your entry once again and put youself in the shoes of an individual 100 years from now. Will they understand?
