If you save the whole Legacy folder to a CD, the program will perform from there.

Legacy databases won't open from a CD. You will have to copy the file to a
hard drive or memory drive.

Subject: [LegacyUG] Problem sharing file
I'm trying to create a CD to share. I can't seem to get the Legacy .fdb file
to open, not on my
laptop (XP), and not on my cousin's computer (ME) (it was created on my
Windows 98se desktop). No
problem with the HTML reports on the CD - they open fine in both of my
browsers. But the .fdb file
will not open.
I have Legacy Deluxe, latest build. When I visit my cousin tomorrow she will
have Legacy Standard
latest build. I read Ken's tips for sharing, but all I want to do is give
her just my .fdb file on
CD (which I have already removed everything I don't want to send). Can
someone tell me what I am
doing wrong? The error message I receive on my laptop when trying to open
the fdb file is: Error
opening database. The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot open the file
"D:\20050331.fdb. It is
already opened exclusively by another user, or you need permission to view
its data. Would you like
to TRY IT AGAIN? (trying it again does not change the error message...).
Any help greatly appreciated...I've been trying to give her this file since
April 1st (I know, but
really this wasn't an April Fool's joke) but though three of us have tried
we cannot find a way to
open it in Legacy Standard.
