At the LDS Family History Library in Naperville (a suburb of Chicago
IL), one of the microfilm viewers will download images straight to the
flash drive. That's why I purchased the flash drive. I do NOT know if
most LDS centers have this feature as yet or not.

As for the local (Rochester MN) public library, the only thing they'll
save to is a floppy disk (the A: drive).

A small scanner sounds like a GREAT idea!
