Mary, I hadn't used any training cds, so I entered transcriptions in source citation and details. The downfall that I can see, since I have been experimenting with it, is that when entered as a source detail it doesn't show up in the chronology view or report. I can see the benefit of entering it as an event, and still citing the source with page, film # etc. I look forward to other comments about it, since I am fairly new to this list. Susan

I'm wondering what the general consensus is - are transcriptions of documents such as census being entered in the event notes or source detail text? I started entering them in event notes (isn't that where Geoff recommends in his training cd's?) but after reading this message, I can see that this is also a viable location for this information and I'm wondering there is a benefit for doing it at this spot rather than the event notes. I value this group's opinions. I get the "Source Citations" list but no text for census, BMD transcriptions etc. I get my "notes" just nothing that I have in "Sources" I tried the "reset" option that was mentioned earlier. I am familiar with PAF where it gives to option to check both "Source Citations" and "Actual Text", I am not seeing that option with Legacy. I can see the text when I bring the individual records up and check their sources.
