Hi Carol,
[Note to Sherry, I hope this is still "on topic" as it has to do with
helping Legacy to produce web pages that are can be more easily searched and
accessed ...]
I've had "Free Find" as a part my Legacy generated pedigree style web pages
for the past couple of years. Works great and, once set-up, doesn't seem to
need any tinkering. Even re-indexing after re-publishing all the web pages
can be set on automatic and forgotten.
I set Legacy to add this for me whenever generating web pages, by adding the
code (I use the text type link) for it to the custom footer section for each
web page. This is done by adding the HTML code obtained from "Free Find"
here: Click on the menu bar "Internet", "Web Page Creation", "Links" tab,
check "Include a custom HTML footer on each page", and then add the code
into that box with perhaps any other 'footer' information such as a menu
bar, and you are all set.
If you have any questions on this Carol, you can email me off-line.
Works for me.

Subject: [LegacyUG] Searching a Legacy Generted Web Page
While taking a workshop, last Saturday< I was informed of a "search tool"
service called http://www.freefind.com/ This search engine would allow
users to do all name search on you web site. This seems to be a good
idea,
as it could allow users to quickly search your site for surname they are
researching without having to "click-through" several pages to see if the
web-site contains information on their ancestors.
I think it could be a useful tool, but have no experience using it? Has
any
on used it or similar tools to enhance their web sites?
Carol
