Estimated, <computer generated>, calculated dates, words in date fields, between dates and Legacy research notes may be lost in file transfers. Besides loss of dates, the events themselves may be lost (along with event notes) if dates are "non-standard" according to the importing genealogy program.

If you care about sharing data, test file transfers with the exact version of each genealogy program used. There are also variations in names, child-parent relationships and source fields.

I concur with Ron. I think it is best to use standard practices when
recording information. Then you won't run into trouble when you try to make
a gedcom or share your data with someone else in report forms.
