Your jump drive should have a letter prefix, i e, d:, e:, or similar. While in Legacy, press <Ctrl> b (for backup), a window will open showing your drives. Click on the drive letter, and Legacy will save a *.zip file to the jump drive.

As I re-read your message, are you trying to save to a CD? If so, won't work. You must use software to transfer files from your hard disk to a CD.

I have been trying to save my files to a mass media jump drive, to take on
vacation with me. It won't let me back up or save it to another drive. I
