Hi Keith,

I am using Legacy for my one-name study of the Hulshizer/Holtshouser family in America. I keep a separate file for this family surname, and it has worked very well. Everyone with this name (in America) that I run across I add to this file. Some I have been able to link together, and others... not yet... but they are all together in the one file. Of course, some of them are in MY direct line (else why was I interested?), so those people are also in my regular family file that includes all of my other direct family lines.

The results of this ongoing one-name study are posted on a web site, in hopes that other researchers will share sources and family connections. http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Meadows/9332/

I often build a separate file for a single surname while doing extensive research in a distinct geographic area. That way I don't clutter up my main family file with potentials or maybes. Once everything is researched and relationships documented, I will add the pertinent people to my main family file.

Just wondering if anyone is recording a one name study in Legacy and if so
how? Do you keep a separate file for direct line, one for unlinked
individuals, for each set of linked families, what?

Keith
