Yes, I believe that somewhere I was told that the description field from
Event's don't export. And a second yes... to the problem being that other
programs don't accept it, not that it doesn't export into the gedcom. So my
phasing wasn't good. should have said other programs can't read the
description field and that is why I try to avoid using it.

it does appear to be exported. I ran a little test. I see the Event
Description in the GEDCOM file; however, it doesn't show in FTM when I
load
the exported file (that's the only other gen tool I have). Is that what
you
mean--it doesn't show up in another program?
