Hi Group, I hope some might be able to help with the wording for an
unmarried mother, in recent times.
Mary Smith had a daughter. Father not known. I have marked Mary as
unmarried, but when I print out a Book Report - Descendant Narrative it
reads
Mary had a child. They had one daughter Ann
Can I get it to read She had a daughter
Many thanks
Susan
Using latest build, same situation, mine reads:
Mary never married. She had one daughter: Ann
Steve
In the Descendant Book report however:
Mary never married.
Their child was:
i. Ann
Steve
Susan,
It looks like Legacy doesn't want to eliminate
the biological fact that all children have both
a father and a mother. Put "Unknown Father"
as the father. You don't have to put in why
the father is unknown. And the child had
no right to know who either of its parents
were. But everyone, including the child,
knows it had both a mother "and" a father.
I see nothing wrong with adding "Unknown
Father" and the phrase "Mary had a child.
They had one daughter Ann". The report
should be clear about parentage. Don't
leave out the facts.
IMHO,
