I will second and third that motion! I had a two week course to learn Access
for a project I once worked on. I ended up using an Oracle database instead
but that's another story. Anyway, Access is not a user friendly program. It
was designed for developers to create very cool databases. Legacy is one of
those very cool databases.

To those considering Legacy and MS Access.....

As one who works with Access databases for my own applications (and as the
Legacy programming staff will agree with) Access is NOT an application you
learn overnight reading "The Idiot's Guide to Access" or such self help
aids. It does have a rather steep learning curve unless you have programming
experience. (I'm a retired 40 yr IT professional Systems Analyst/Sr
Programmer).

I had several days of formal training in Beginning and Intermediate Access
and know enough to make my way around in simple to moderate Access
applications. As is quite obvious from the ease of use displayed in Legacy,
Access in the hands of veteran Access programmers, can be made to LOOK easy.
I've looked at the underlying tables, inquiries etc in Legacy and they range
from the fairly simple to QUITE complex!

Unless you REALLY know what you're doing, or REALLY want to screw up your
Legacy files.......let sleeping dogs lie and don't even think about messing
around with it!!

Sounds like there's a high learning curve with Access, so it's not for me.

Thank you for the advice,
Peggy
