Janet,

I just did this myself. Thanks to this group, I was able to accomplish it
no problem.

To load Legacy, just go to the website and download it. If you have the
Deluxe version, just go to the upgrade section of the website and input your
Legacy Key (can't remember what it is called) and then Legacy is installed.

Then save your family file as a backup onto the CD from your desktop
computer. Then load the CD on your laptop and RESTORE file into Legacy from
the backup. I tried to do the GEDCOM way and I kept getting errors.

Hope this is clear! Have a great vacation!

Subject: [LegacyUG] Loading Legacy 5.0 onto laptop

We just got a new laptop and are leaving on vacation in the morning.
I want to load Legacy 5.0 on to the laptop. Would someone please tell
me how to do it and make it work asap? Also, should I make a gedcom
of my data and load it into the laptop? Nothing like a last minute
thing to do when going on vacation, but doing some genealogy on the
way.

Thank you,
Janet
