In a nutshell, If I were you, I'd stick with Legacy.
I have FTM 10. Merging on it isn't half as good as on Legacy.
I don't think they've made big improvements in that area if any at all
with the latest version of that software. FTM makes nice trees etc.
but it's not even close to Legacy in merging. I also used Generations,
and again I don't think it's as good as Legacy in this area. But then
it's not available anymore! I don't know about any other programs.
I have played around with other programs a little, but not enough to
give a good evaluation of their merging capabilities.
