I have done more watching of this list than participating but I can't help but express my opinion on this particular subject. I live in Bountiful, UT but did not get to attend the conference but when I went to my local FHC they had 6.0 on the computers!! How very nice that was! Those that received copies I believe, had to pay for them! I am currently using the standard version while learning all of its in and outs that are available then will upgrade as soon as I can to 6.0. In the meantime, I will enjoy what I have as my facts and data increase then make the switch when the time is right! I have switched many people to legacy over the last few months as I find it to be a wonderful program. I think waiting and extra month while the 6.0 goes thru the "refiners fire" will be worth it!

So why would they want to risk upsetting loyal users on this list who have contributed to the product's success by helping each other and by offering suggestions to improve the product and even reporting and finding bugs? Seems very inept to me. > The fact I didn't attend the BYU Conference > for what ever reason is of no consequence. > The fact I bought versions 4 and 5 is also of > no consequence and does not provides me with > title to version 6. > > I am not jealous and certainly do not feel > insulted, just because some lucky soul got > a freebie. As many of the participants in this list have paid with time and effort to help each other (lowering support costs for Millenia) and to find bugs and offer suggestions to improve Legacy as noted above. > It is an imagined insult only to the very thin skinned. Then count me among the "very thin skinned". When Legacy 5 came out they had pre-releases that were available for download from their web site. The availability of these downloads was published on this list. The code had timeouts in it, so it wouldn't work past a certain date. They were free downloads. People on the list helped find bugs and offered comments on what they liked an disliked about new features. I thought that was excellent. I hope that is repeated for Release 6. > IMHO, > JimS Just my two cents, jr Legacy User Group Etiquette guidelines can be found at: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp To find past messages, please go to our searchable archives at: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup%40mail.millenniacorp.com/ To unsubscribe please visit: http://www.legacyfamilytree.com/LegacyLists.asp Legacy User Group Etiquette guidelines can be found at: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp To find past messages, please go to our searchable archives at: http://www.mail-archive.com/legacyusergroup%40mail.millenniacorp.com/ To unsubscribe please visit: http://www.legacyfamilytree.com/LegacyLists.asp
