LUGers,
I second Ron's comments.
If Legacy List is broken into parts, the sum
of the parts will be larger than the whole.
Some submissions will be submitted to more
than one sublist and for those interested
in the big picture, they will see duplicate
submissions. I'm on another set of divided
Lists and I've seen too many duplicates.
IMHO "Divide and conquer" will not sit well with
Millennia. They sponsor this List and I don't
think carving up the List is in their best interests.
They complain regularly that the List's largeness
is a problem for them. If one of you wants to
sponsor one or more subLists, please do. But I
doubt Millennia will find the time to monitor it.
Secondly, getting the subject line right is
very important. It is WRONG to simply hit
the reply button, change the subject line,
write your comments, and submit. What
happens is your submission is STILL CONNECTED
to the previous submission. Your submission will
be archived NOT under your subject, but under
the original subject. You wouldn't want that!!
SOLUTION: You need to start a new submission,
when you start a new subject. And by all means
make the subject fit.
Clear as mud?

I think it would be a great disservice to ALL users to even consider breaking
the Legacy user list into a bunch of sub lists because certain topics don't
interest certain users. I do think those posting to the list need to be more
conscious of their subject line so that the readers know at a glance what the
subject matter is and then he/she can delete any subjects that are of no
interest. There is definitely a problem whereby people have a tendency to
launch a new subject by hitting the "reply" button, but the subject line is
never changed.
Just my opinion.

This brings me agn to my pet 'disgruntlement' :-) . Why
do we not have a separate list for Legacy web page talk?
I have absolutely NO interest in web page
creation/information and cannot see the day when I will
have. Often there is quite a lot of discussion regarding
various issues and I often wonder why this could not be a
separate list.. Could this pse be considered and are
there any good reasons why there shouldn't be?
