You don't have to do it for every photo - but you do have to do it for one photo in every sub-folder - which is bad enough. It would be good if it could recognise the change for the "parent" folder.

I suppose it depends on how complicated your directory structure is.  For
me, I find it works to sort my pictures into subdirectories based on family
groupings (or census year).  I have too many links to want to have to
manually fix every single link by doing the "test all multimedia paths."  If
there was some way to reset it globally - i.e. have portions of the path
name globally replaced, then that would be fine.  But to have to reset each
link for every photo in every subdirectory would be torture.
