I have W 98. I installed L6 over 5, both Deluxe. I d/l Legacy on a local
high speed connection, as it would take about 5 hours to d/l 23 mb. I am not
sure it started right when I installed 6, but I also have some error
messages, perhaps due to sloppy housekeeping. On my old machine I have about
a gig of space on my 2nd (small) Hard Drive, so I don't think that is a
problem. Legacy is on that drive. 64 mb RAM.
Sometimes while the window is loading the buttons show up, then disappear
just as the final inputs are made to the window.

I just ran into a problem. I installed v. 6, and now when windows come up
the decision boxes do not show. Close, yes, no, cancel, all those
necessary
buttons are just blank spots. The place where they should be is 'live',
and
when I click there the button shows up, but when I guess wrong I get the
wrong action. Any ideas?
That gives me a little more to go on. Restart the computer, and before
you do anything, right click on My Computer and choose Properties. Click
the Performance tab and see how much resources are available. Write down
this figure. Close System Properties and open Legacy and after it
finishes loading, check System Properties again and let me know the
available resources for both.
Where is your swap file located and how much free space does that drive
have? It would be a lot easier and quicker for me to look at your system
if you want to contact me offline.
64MB of RAM is a very small amount by todays standards. If you have a
lot of programs loading at boot, you may not have enough resources
available to 'show' everything. Your memory is the minimum required for
Legacy. You may want to check into upgrading it or upgrading your
system. I just bought a new computer for someone that was a 2.4 GHz with
512MB RAM for $300 with WinXP. Monitor not included. They are cheap
enough and will save you so much time it hardly seems worth working with
such a slow computer. If that isn't affordable, a used computer can
probably be found for $100 to $150 that is much more capable than what
you have.
