Deidrich, Put the word Deceased on your clipboard. (I create a text document in Notepad, type the word Deceased, then copy it to my clipboard, then delete the text document. There is probably an easier way but it works for me.)
Do a detailed search: Look for: Individual Where to look: Death Date How to look: Equal to What to look for: (Blank) Create List When the search list is before you, Select the Edit tab >From the search list in Edit mode, you will be able to quickly go from one name to the next, placing the word Deceased in the Died field. -- Alice In a message dated 10/4/2005 10:29:50 AM Eastern Daylight Time, [EMAIL PROTECTED] writes: place my genealogy tree on RootsWeb and they mark a lot of my individuals as "Living" because they don't see anything in the death field (when I don't know either the birth or death dates). I know that Legacy has an option in the program called "Advanced Set Living" to mark all people older ad dead who are older than a set value. However, this will not work for me. I need to place the word "deceased" in the deceased date or place field. My database is over 107,000 people and I need to mark about 30,000+ records as "deceased". I can't figure out an easy way to do this. Does anyone have any ideas. Legacy tech support could not help on this one. I appreciate any help available.
