Has anyone experimented to find the "best" sizes for pictures included in Legacy 6 reports saved as RTF? This affects scanning and linking of pictures from the beginning of a family project. A report looks untidy if every face picture is a different size and shape. Will the spouse picture be included in the next release?
For a simple example, I might want all individual pictures to print one inch wide and all group pictures, maps & documents to print six inches wide. Each picture available for birth, christening, marriage, death and burial will need a *custom* event to be included in a Legacy report. PDF reports with one size of picture are not suitable for a family project with a lot of group pictures. -- Elizabeth ----- Original Message ----- From: "Mary Fowler Leek" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, November 14, 2005 5:23 AM Subject: Re: [LegacyUG] Embedding Pictures in RTF I've found my photos display closer to their original size (or maybe the actual size - haven't checked that closely) when embedded in rtf file from within Legacy. For instance, the headstone you mention covers a third of a standard letter size page, when embedded in a rtf file. Can certainly read the inscription now. :-) Until Legacy allows images to be displayed and printed in reports within Legacy, at the size we attach, it will take an extra effort to create the report you're seeking. I think, to get the results you're after, you might want to designate a practice family, then determine the correct image sizes for head and shoulder, headstones and full page records. Create a rtf file and check to see how they display. Once you know what size each type of image should be, size them accordingly before attaching in Legacy. This way, when you want to share or print a rtf report with your preferred image sizes, they will embed and display and/or print at the desired size. One problem right now. The photo(s) for the spouse of the focus person for the report are not being embedded in the rtf file. I'm sure it will be fixed, but don't know when. It has one important sentence | missing from the onscreen Help file. "This option is set on the OTHER tab of | the Options > Customize screen."
