I didn't mean that Notepad couldn't be used, just that some plain text
editors are not good enough to use. I realize people use Notepad and have
no trouble. When I use Frontpage, I still do much of the coding for
flexibility even in a theme. The reason I use Frontpage to make changes to
Legacy is to keep it all in the same "program" and for ease of navigation.
I still think Legacy should have a built in counter. The other thing I try
to keep in mind is that the majority of people using Legacy web page creator
are not well enough educated to add the counters in html in any type
software or editor. I offered help with the assumption that people asking
how to add something as basic as a counter are most likely not going to have
the knowledge or experience to use html even in Notepad and should have
someone assist them off list with the details. I guess I sometimes don't
come across as I intended. Sorry.

Hi Paul,

I was not suggesting that discussing Legacy web pages is off topic - I do it

regularly (especially their bugs). What I was suggesting was that details of

html is off topic. BTW there is no problem in using Notepad to amend html.
It is the standard use for Notepad and I use it regularly. Personnally I
much prefer to write my own html rather than use software such as FrontPage
as it gives me much more control over the pages but I guess that's a matter
of taste.

Ron Ferguson
