Arnold,
Quite the opposite! You might not want to risk your main Legacy file without
a backup the first day of a new build, but it is better to know as soon as
possible if the features *you* want to use are working as set. Don't count
on the first-day downloaders to check features for you because every
customer uses the program a different way. Detail collectors rarely view
printed reports with pictures or wall charts created with other software.

I took a quick look at the *unadvertised* late update [January 2006] of
Legacy 5 just now. It looks like the yyyy-mm date format bug was fixed but
not mentioned in the Revision History when the PDF creation tool changed.
For some reason, the Legacy 5 customers who wanted yyyy-mm-dd format didn't
notice the problem with partial yyyy-mm dates until Legacy 6 was released.

A partial date of May 1850 ended up as 1850-1805 when I switched from
yyyy-mm-dd format back to Month dd, yyyy in Legacy 5. No one answered a
question on the list about finding "backwards" dates changed by using Legacy
5 with year, month, day date format. It is possible to enter date ranges
like 1850-1805 with no error message in Legacy 6.

Legacy reports have border lines [default] around pictures but Legacy
"charts" have no border lines for pictures. Most pictures look better
without border lines and that would be a better default setting for Legacy
reports besides matching the chart setting.

A border line option for pictures was added for reports about a year ago but
not mentioned in Revision History. Border line check box comes back every
time Legacy 5 or Legacy 6 file is closed. It is possible to change the
"include border line" check box before printing a single report but a chore
for a Legacy book with multiple reports with pictures.

Builds of Legacy 6 Deluxe in 2005 had a line through a picture on one side
and a white space on the other side when a report was saved as PDF. That
problem seems to be fixed in 6.0.0.83 but wasn't mentioned in Revision
History. -- Elizabeth
