Group, I'm sure Doug is referring to other competing Palm Products, not Pocket Genealogist which does not limit Notes or memos to 30K.
I wonder if he means 2-way syncing? (Data changes on the device synced back into the Legacy database... Not applicable with GEDStar since it doesn't allow data entry on the device) Kevin -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of GHCS Software Sent: Monday, June 05, 2006 4:53 PM To: LegacyUserGroup@mail.millenniacorp.com Subject: Re: [LegacyUG] PDAs and Legacy >Gedstar - Works on the Palm OS and is only READ ONLY. >There was chatter a long time ago that the company was not even >thinking of making it sync with Legacy Some major misinformation there! GedStar Pro (and the older, less capable GedStar-Plus) do sync directly with Legacy 6.0 and always have. Millenia Corp. is the company that talked me into the Legacy-specific support in the first place. > I own an earlier Palm Tungsten E and purchased the Gedstar Pro. No > problem downloading. Is read only as someone else mentioned. The data > is very truncated. Truncated? How so? I think that GedStar Pro actually has fewer limitations in character string lengths than some other competing products. OK -- the limit on notes or memos is 30K bytes. If you're talking about truncated on the screen, that's due to the limited size of the screen, but there are side-scrolling and vertical-scrolling controls if you want to see the rest of the info.
