Thank you for your detaled reply. I followed your instructions and came
up with the following error:

This error is actually quite similar to one I had trying to make lejos
2.1 from the 'official website' which also complained about not being
able to find files (jar files in that occasion) which is why I started
to look around and stumbled upon this list.
What should my next step be?

and extracted it into an empty directory..
I've also downloaded the documentation and read the install
instructions of the tutorial. However when I come to the 'make' part
I get the following error:
$ make
make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found. Stop.
I haven't been able to find a single file named make or makefile in
the whole download.
I have also read about a patch to be able to compile lejos with gcc-4
but I have very little experience compiling or applying patches and
it might as well have been written in chinese.
Can anybody please help me understand what I may be doing wrong and
how to get lejos properly installed?
