that was just a general caveat.
As ARM is not used as much as e.g. x86
you have to keep the possibility of bugs in mind,
especially w.r.t. optimization (e.g. -O2 compiler flag).

There is a bug tracker for GCC at http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/ ,
searching for arm gave me 56 bug reports.

But don't let that stop you from using it.
