Mac users seem to prefer binaries, much like Win users do.
I personally almost always prefer them. I like to download working apps,
rather than download things which might compile and then work. Its very
frustrating to want to try something and have to fight a compiler, only to
discover the program doesn't meet your needs after all.

my boys would prefer a click and install over building. The mac
developer tools allow you to fairly easily set up a project as
'univeral' so that it can run on ppc and intel.
