I have a Mac Pro Mid-2010 that would make a good project for someone. The unit was purchased by the university for my office in the summer of 2011, and was used by me alone since then. The unit is in fairly splendid condition, and it spent all of its life in my university office until I replaced it with a new Mac Pro this past summer. Currently, it has no hard drives in it, BUT it does have two optical drives, all hard drive sleds, wireless, Bluetooth, ATI Radeon graphics (as indicated in the specs), and 24 GB of RAM (!!) During performance, all ports worked and functioned as designed I figure that, with the purchase of a replacement power supply, someone can easily turn this back into the nice production unit it was when operational, and fortunately, replacing a power supply on this Mac Pro is far easier than doing the same on its G5 predecessor! Because I know that the buyer is going to have to turn around and get the right part for it, I will attempt to make the project affordable by asking only *$100.00 *(plus actual shipping cost) for this to be delivered anywhere in the continental U.S. Payment would be direct to the university (USPS or bank money order preferred), and shipping would be from Upland, IN 46989-1001 The official weight of the unit box is, iirc, 46 lbs. - anticipate an approx. shipping cost of $50-60. Once acquired, I can run it over to campus P.O. to obtain an actual cost for you. The unit will be shipped in its OEM box with its OEM power cord - no keyboard or mouse, just the unit.
