My Apple LaserWriter 16/600 PS Fax is in need of a new or used High Voltage
Power Supply, Apple part number 661-0096.

I have had this printer sitting in storage for about six years. I decided
to drag it out and see if it worked. Prints were all right for about 100
pages, then lines and ghosting appeared on them. I had the fuser in it
rebuilt, as new ones are impossible to find. My prints were very light. I
replaced the toner cartridge with a new one, and the density of the prints
improved somewhat, but it seems that not enough toner is being deposited on
the transfer roller to make prints come out properly. Apple's service guide
for this printer indicates the next step to resolve this problem is to
replace the High Voltage Power Supply. There is one more step beyond this,
but we need not go into it now.

I checked voltage per the service guide at J210-9 and J210-10. Voltage is
within range. I disassembled this printer and cleaned it thoroughly. I
installed a complete maintenance kit complete with all rollers. I tried
different paper. I tried the new toner cartridge in an HP printer and it
worked fine. The service guide indicates not enough voltage is being
supplied to the toner cartridge via the High Voltage Power Supply, so
prints come out light.

So, I believe the problem is the high voltage power supply. New or used
ones are impossible to find. Failing this, I will part out this old beast
and sell any salvageable parts.

Any help or information from you guys would be greatly appreciated!
