Looking at the portion of the curve where Ru/Rd <=1, it is pretty
close to linear.

 Here is what I think is happening:

 Within the "near linear" portion, although the coefficients (a, b, c)
are large, they cancel each other out.

 This sort of thing happens when you fit curves automatically.

 It shouldn't cause a problem -- the ultimate test is whether the
images processed by lensfun look OK.
